Family hunting trips and youth hunts in the Texas Hill Country. Guided exotic hunts for young hunters, non-hunter rates, and two very friendly giraffes.
Some of the best hunting memories are made with family. Black Eagle Ranch has been family-run since 1986, and young hunters have taken record-book animals here, including a junior Exotic Wildlife Association record-book axis taken by Jake Wheeler.
Youth hunters in Texas
Hunters under 17 can hunt on a Texas youth hunting license. Hunter education is available from age 9, and younger hunters must be accompanied by a licensed adult. Check current rules with Texas Parks & Wildlife before your trip.
Good first animals
- Axis deer: a forgiving size, beautiful trophy and great meat.
- Blackbuck: a memorable first exotic.
- Fallow deer and aoudad: classic Hill Country hunts.
For the rest of the family
Non-hunting guests are $150 per day. And everyone gets to meet Patches and Cindy, our two giraffes. They have never been on the list and never will be.
