The blesbok is a South African antelope with a rich reddish-brown coat that shines purple in good light and a bright white blaze down the face. Both sexes carry ringed, lyre-shaped horns.
Blesbok are very social animals that run in herds in open grassland.

Blesbok on the ranch move in groups through the open grass. They often face into the wind and have a habit of running, stopping, and looking back, which can give a ready hunter a shot.
