About the Nyala
A mature nyala bull has a shaggy charcoal coat, a white chevron between the eyes, bright yellow-orange legs, and lyre-shaped horns with ivory tips. Many hunters consider it the best-looking antelope in Africa.
The cows look like a different species: rust-red with bright white stripes and no horns. You will see bulls and cows together in the herd at Black Eagle Ranch.

Hunting Nyala at Black Eagle Ranch
Nyala move through shade and thick cover and don't stay in the open long. The ranch's oak bottoms and fence-line brush are where you'll find them.
The trophy to look for is a dark, fully coated bull with horns that curve out and back in at the tips. Good nyala hunting is about timing as much as shooting.
