About the Hog Deer

The hog deer gets its name from the way it runs, head low through tall grass rather than bounding. It is a close relative of the axis deer, smaller and stockier, with short three-point antlers on the stags.

In its native range in Asia, the hog deer is endangered, which makes it a rare animal on any trophy wall.
