About the Impala
The impala is the classic African antelope: a two-tone coat, black stripes on the rump, and lyre-shaped horns on the rams. An impala can jump ten feet high and cover thirty feet in one bound.
Impala are quick and nervous, which makes a clean shot on a good ram harder to get than you'd expect.
Hunting Impala at Black Eagle Ranch
Impala on the ranch stay in the tall grass and the tree lines. When the herd spots you it bolts all at once, so a careful approach is everything.
A mature ram has deep, sweeping lyre horns with tips that flare out and forward.
