About the Sable Antelope
A mature sable bull is glossy black with a white belly, a bold white face mask, and long ridged horns that sweep back in a curve. It has a standing mane and an upright posture, and it looks as good in person as it does on a wall.
Sable are known for fighting back: wounded or cornered bulls have killed lions with those horns.
Hunting Sable Antelope at Black Eagle Ranch
Sable like the edges where grass meets timber, and that is where the ranch's live oak country fits them. They're alert and will stand their ground and watch you before deciding to leave.
Look for a jet-black bull with thick, heavily ridged horns curving well past the shoulders.
