Texas Hill Country Hunting
Black Eagle Ranch sits in the heart of America's exotic hunting country.
America's exotic hunting country
Texas holds more exotic game than anywhere outside Africa and Asia, and most of it lives in the Hill Country. Ranchers brought axis deer, blackbuck and nilgai here in the 1930s. The limestone hills, live oak and mild winters suited them, and the herds grew.
Today the country around Fredericksburg, Kerrville, Harper and Junction draws hunters from across the nation for animals they would otherwise need to cross an ocean to find.

Black Eagle Ranch, Harper
Black Eagle Ranch is outside Harper in Gillespie County, west of Fredericksburg on US-290. 3,700 acres of oak mottes, cedar breaks, open grass, rocky ridges and spring-fed tanks: the Hill Country at its best.
It is home to 33 exotic species, from African spiral horns and desert oryx to rare deer and Cape buffalo. Few places in Texas offer that kind of variety on one property.
